TURKEY WITH TURKEN FOUNDATION
In the summer of 2018 (the one that changed everything), on the day that I turned in my work laptop and left the corporate world, I also embarked on the trip of a lifetime to my dream international destination. I was accompanied by 80 other young professionals and students from across the continent on a trip with the Turken Foundation, with whom I would spend the next 10 days exploring the cities of Istanbul, Ankara, Konya, and the legendary, ancient city of Cappadocia. This is a curated gallery that doesn’t even begin to do justice to what it feels like to wander the streets of Istanbul, drive through the country-side as stunning views of mountains line each side of the road, and what it was like to experience the most surreal sunrise of my life as we floated above and across the canyons of Cappadocia. It’s a country that’s so magical that you have to experience it for yourselves. These are just some of the moments , experiences, and people that made the trip what it was.
There’s unique experiences that anyone that has gone to Turkey can all immediately bond over - the coffee, the stray cats loitering everywhere, the call to prayer filling the streets, the beautiful leaks of light casting shadows down side alleys- where, by the way, there is just as much life as on the main streets. From beaches and salt flats to mountains, it’s a country that has every type of landscape waiting to be explored.
Can’t wait to get back here some day and explore more parts of it!
