Hey team! I’m Ammar, an adventure & lifestyle photographer with a love for cinematic storytelling, and I’d like to work as a powerhouse of a creative for you guys! While only a small fraction of the US population lives in sunny California, there’s a world of potential storytelling and content waiting for us by getting more electric bikes on the road in cities like Washington, D.C, Chicago, and New York! And now with October here, I want to take Pedal Electric into the one realm that the East Coast does well- Fall foliage and sweater weather goodness. I’d like to not only set up some shoots in my own city, but also mount a bike to the back of a car and drive it to multiple cities and locations on the East Coast (possibly even Chicago) to create beautiful imagery for you guys to use to get ahead of the electric bike surge! I’ve already got models on standby, I’ve already got ideas I’m waiting to let loose on, and I’m just waiting to impress you guys with what I can do once one of your bikes is in front of me!

A Sensible Partnership // The Need I See
I believe that electric truly is the future. As a proud owner of an electric bike myself, I absolutely love the lifestyle that comes with ripping around on my bike, skipping past traffic, and avoiding crazy insurance and gas costs of owning a car (I’d know because I sold my car earlier this year for an electric bike and haven’t looked back yet). And while it’s super common now for people to see e-bikes on the road in California, I turn heads every single time that I’m riding through NoVa & DC on my bike and I find myself having at least one conversation every day about electric bikes, how fast they go, how much I got mine for, and before you know it, I’m converting friends to the game via joy rides.
I frequent cities like New York, Chicago, and Portland quite some and every time I’m there there days, I can’t help but to think that these cities need more electric bikes on the road. I know that for the city I call home, I want to see more bikes like yours on its roads.
To say the least, I’ve got ideas and I’m going to break down some of them in the next section for you guys! Hold on tight!
The imagery I envision for you can be used across your website, social media platforms, newsletters/emails, personal profiles, and even in print form.
The Proposed Partnership
With a bike that you would send, I can direct, shoot & produce:
Multiple sets of professionally edited photos ranging from 10-25 final images per shoot (just proposed— we can always adjust for what your company’s marketing needs are or set up a recurring schedule where I deliver a certain amount of photos by a certain time), highlighting a mix of bike details, mid-range shots of subject interaction, story-setting shots of the bike in day-to-day settings, and emotion-evoking lifestyle shots of how your bikes can be used.
Instagram stories and permanent posts with coverage of the adventure and process tagging @pedal.electric. Once I work with a brand I believe in, you have an ambassador for life because I love genuinely sharing what I’m using in life and how it adds value to it.
Some behind the scenes style photos and IG stories of shoots.
Eventually I would absolutely love to see you guys expand your JoyRide series and do a profile out here on the East Coast in cities like DC and New York! I would love to be a part of that when the time comes!
My goal is not only to figure out a fair partnership for us both, but also to create content for you guys on an on-going basis— wait till’ Cherry Blossom season comes around on the East Coast, I’m already bouncing about what those rides will look like. Additionally, in the spirit of catching Fall foliage and squeezing the best out of this season, I’m willing to cover any additional shipping cost for express-shipping a bike to DC!
The following are just what I have envisioned for the potential I see, but I would love to talk more and learn more about your marketing needs and what vision you have for how you want your brand to look and feel to dial our shoots in more!
The Game Plan — General Backdrops for Content Followed by Mini Ideas
Scene / Story 1 — New York: Following peak Fall foliage as it moves south from the tips of the country, I’d start shooting content in New York City— potentially further north depending on how soon we can get a bike over to the East coast! This city is an endless treasure trove of timeless, urban storytelling. I would love to shoot scenes that highlight the bike against the beautiful skyline backdrops that places like Brooklyn give us, the niche coffee spots you can park it around, and moments like rolling through the streets of SoHo. Being familiar with a whole network of creators and shooting/living in the city itself in the past sets me up to already have models ready to shoot, locations in mind, and fellow creators to bounce ideas off of.
Scene / Story 2 — Washington D.C: Of course, the same applies for the nation’s capital. The convenience of being home allows me to tap into a diverse group of subjects and stories that I can set up to show how a bike like this would seamlessly integrate into a city lifestyle. I would absolutely love to show off one of Pedal Electric’s bikes in the city I call home in ways that only a lover of their city can romanticize. We can shoot an array of subjects and themes, from editorial looks to couples shoots using the bike while joy riding through the national monuments area (absolutely stunning during foliage and outside of it), to just even highlighting as many features of the bike as possible, including any fun add-ons and accessories over time.
Scene / Story 3 — Assateague National Seashore/West Virginia/Shenandoah/North Carolina: Imagine a model taking a trip during the most magical time of the year, building a campfire on a beach or sipping hot cocoa by his cabin in a colorful forrest, and framing stories around a single or couple of subjects using their bike in those settings. These locations are primo for capturing foliage craziness and the cozy feeling of autumn.
Shoot Idea
Imagine attaching 100 orange balloons (with spooky vibes) to a bike and riding through the city with it, handing one out to anyone that asks what they’re for. Boom, instant joy to people while they drool over the bike. Super fun story to capture.
Shoot Idea
Doing a brand collaboration with someone like Anian to equip a rider for those crisp Fall rides. Models that are well styled for any seasonal occasion will elevate how good the bikes already look and give us coast-to-coast range. I’d style the models appropriately for the season regardless but it’s an idea!
Shoot Idea
To show off the built-in space for a basket for carrying all your goods, having a little puppy riding in one; going apple picking (super Fall vibes) with the bike through a farm and capturing that story; transporting a super important birthday cake to a picnic.
Shoot Idea — Couples Shoots
When I’m not shooting adventure and lifestyle, I find myself shootings elopements and weddings around the country so I know a thing or two about working with multiple subjects at once— I’d love to do some shoots that highlight how your bikes already come ready to fit two passengers. These can be timeless, styled looks and even capture a story that’s more seasonally inspired— imagine a couple dressed up as Harry Potter characters or Star Wars Storm Troopers or zombies in love and capturing them riding around town getting up to no-good spookiness.
A Narrative Focus
If it’s one thing I know how to do well, it’s weaving lifestyle shots of products into a narrative. I understand how crucial it is to have that human element to any brand’s presence & aim to highlight how your market interacts (or can interact) with your product from the beginning of a story to the end.
*Side note that comes out in the diverse models and subjects I use: one of my core-values as a creator is inclusion/representation- I ultimately want to see more people that look like myself and friends in the outdoors and in marketing materials for brands that have the power to influence people to get out and live life more vibrantly! I believe that when we feature faces of minorities using our products, we're saying that those minorities belong and that those activities are for them as well- simultaneously helping my brands tap into those markets as well.
The Mood-Board — Drawing Inspiration From The Greats
Here are photos I’ve gathered from some of the creators and brands that inspire me daily and even some that I have found in passing over the years. My own unique vision is influenced still by some of the best to ever do it. Storytelling legends like Garrett King, Aaron Brimhall, Karl Shakur, & Jack Hardman are just some of the artists that will be inspiring the story that I’ll be telling of our own adventures! I’ve also pulled inspiration from brands that do social media like no one I’ve seen before, like DB Bags who do crazy things like creating an entire pop up flower shop just for dropping a line of green bags (ironically, it made me wonder what the electric bike was that they were using).
Looking forward to hearing from you guys!
I’m incredibly excited to have this conversion with you guys about what a partnership could look like! Please know that I am available to chat and brainstorm as early as you possibly are — this is my top priority this season and hope that we can continue working on a longer-term basis!
